System design and development tools

System Design and Development Tools Working Group

Gérard Poirier, WP President - DASSAULT AVIATION

"The activities of our Working Group are essentially transverse to other Working Groups of the cluster: these tools and systems will be used in aerospace, energy, services, as well as in auto-motive, transportation, telecom or security and defence. Now, the Working Group has risen to the challenge of setting up projects between different clusters. As demonstrated by the results of projects coordinated by several clusters: O2M (Mov’eo), Quick_GPS (Astech), Lambda (Minalogic and Aerospacevalley), ADN (I-Trans and Vehicle du Futur),IRIMI (Medicen, Images et Reseaux)..."

A major issue : Industrial productivity

The aim is to develop digital tools and method which will help to design, develop, manufacture and maintain physical objects or software, embedded systems, bet¬ter, faster and cheaper than today.

It is remarkable that the leading European players in this field are located in the Paris region.

The Systems Design and Development Tools Working Group within SYSTEMATIC

  • R&D financed Projects: 125
  • 230 partners including : 130 SMEs - 53 Large Companies - 46 Research institutes and universities - 1 association
  • Total investment: 678 €

The Systems Design and Development Tools Working Group is based on extensive use of High Performance Computer and is positioned on three technology areas, called “Development Axes”:

  • Modelling systems simulation
  • Software engineering for embedded system
  • Data analytics

Among the industrial and technological priorities for Systems Design and Development Tools Working Group:

  • Calculation up to PetaFlops and PetaBytes wide (HPC)
  • Complex system early design optimization
  • Product Simulation
  • Design of software systems
  • Simulation of production process and factories opti-mization
  • Life cycle Management tools
  • Data fusion and Knowledge management
  • Test, verification, validation and certification tools,
  • Development of synergies between key players ASTech et MOV’EO
  • Development of software tools for the platform eco-design of the Clean Sky JT
  • ...
